Ibanez AFC151 Contemporary Archtop Semi Acoustic Guitar
The AFC151 Contemporary Archtop Semi Acoustic Guitar features a combination of spruce and flame maple, for a superb tone and stunning aesthetics. The spruce top offers a broad dynamic range and accommodates a wide variety of playing styles. Spruce is a common choice for soundboards, as its longevity and strength provide a sturdy structure, as well as an ideal diaphragm for sound transmission. Combined with flame maple, players can achieve a loud, projective acoustic tone that sounds great. With its hollow body, the AFC151 delivers a resonant tone that can be used acoustically or amplified. A pair of classic F sound holes are also included, and provide an authentic 1950s appearance as well as add to the overall sound delivery.
Neck & Fingerboard
This contemporary archtop guitar has been specifically designed to meet the demands of today's cutting edge players, offering superb craftsmanship and hardware for the best sound. As well as proving a resonant body with comfortable contours, a three-piece mahogany/maple neck is also incorporated for added comfort and excellent tone. This three-piece neck is mounted with a bound ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl off-set block inlays. Ebony is a great choice for fingerboards, as its natural smoothness reduces finger fatigue, for fast playing styles. Ebony is also an ideal platform for percussive styles such as tapping or hammer-ons.

Although Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980’s that they began to form an identity for themselves when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments.
