The Levinson Sceptre Desoto bass pays homage to a classic design celebrated for its exceptional versatility, renowned midrange richness, and brilliant treble response. Staying true to its roots, the Levinson Sceptre Desoto Series adheres to the original 1960s-style pickup placement, ensuring a smoother and more pronounced midrange presence. This tonal character is gracefully accentuated by the North American Alder body, known for its comfortable contours and elegant aesthetics.
The neck embodies classic design principles. Featuring a slim satin finish and a 38mm bone nut, it offers a comfortable playing experience across all 20 frets. The inclusion of a dual-action truss rod ensures the neck's durability and stability, enabling consistent performance.
The custom-wound pickups are meticulously crafted with enamel-coated 42 AWG wire and ALNICO 5 magnets. Both the neck and bridge pickups are reverse-wound and reverse-poled to eliminate hum when both are engaged, while preserving the distinctive snap and growl of single-coil pickups.
