Our History!
Gough & Davy was established as a Piano retailer in 1850 and soon became a market leader in providing the latest musical instruments and music at the time.
The business flourished all through the Victorian era and on into the 20th. century. During the next hundred years the name Gough & Davy became synonymous with music lovers, not only in Hull but the whole country.
In 2007, the company was relocated to new premises 'Under the City Hall' and is now owned and managed by Hull's own Alan Kilvington, who first joined Goughs as a sales assistant in 1995, and Robert Dearing, whose association started with G & D in the transport of our piano range.
Al ‘Kilvo’ is an Americana piano player from Hull, Yorkshire England who plays with a style and verve described as that of the Killer - Jerry Lee Lewis - himself.
Al continued to hone his skills in the musical style of Jerry Lee Lewis and in 2013 was invited to record with Hull's Johnny Pat in Sun Studios in Memphis TN with Kenny Lovelace and Robert Hall of Jerry Lee’s band.
Alan teamed up with David Barton to produce the Two Pianos Show, selling out in UK theatres.
