Back in Stock!.
Gough and Davy are proud to be part of the Hull Edition of the Monopoly Board Game! Price includes Postage and Packaging.
Edition sees new tokens including trawler, football, rugby ball, ferris wheel … and toad.
A trawler and a toad are among the six unique playing tokens that star in a brand new MONOPOLY game for Hull.
The brand new MONOPOLY game for Hull – launched April 7th to celebrate the city’s current year-long UK City of Culture status – sees:
- Six unique MONOPOLY playing tokens – as voted by the Hull public. This is the first time ever in the world that all the MONOPOLY tokens have come about as a result of a public vote. The vote was held last year over a two month period. The old MONOPOLY boottoken gets the boot along with the top hat, dog and the other iconic tokens. In their place will be “defining” Hull symbols. They are revealed as a TRAWLER, a TOAD, a FOOTBALL, a RUGBY BALL, a CROWN and a FERRIS WHEEL.
- Every single London address like Mayfair and Park Lane makes way for Hull landmarks. The Humber Bridge is revealed as having landed on Mayfair, the game’s top iconic location. Hull City Hall, the Ferens Art Gallery, Hull Minster, Wilberforce House, the King Billy Statue, Hepworth’s Arcade, Hull City, Hull FC, Hull KR and the Maritime Museum are amongst other landmarks in the game.
- The MONOPOLY sets are themed sets of twos, threes and fours. There is a festival set to ensure that Hull stays partying on in this landmark year. Other sets include sports, leisure, culture (of course in this landmark year!), travel, and heritage.
- The Chance and the Community Chest cards are heavily Hull customised too. One sees Hull City get to Wembley ! Another pays tribute to Hull’s ‘Bee Lady’ Jean Bishop. A third re-imburses players for getting stuck in bottleneck city centre traffic.
“The game is a celebration of everything Hull – its rich past, jubilant present and vibrant future,” says Benjamin Thompson, CUSTOM GAMES EXECUTIVE, at Winning Moves UK, the game’sdevelopers under license from Hasbro.
