A fantastic example of a 2008 Gibson USA Flying V, presented in the iconic Faded Cherry finish. Built in the USA, this Flying V combines Gibson’s instantly recognisable angular design with a powerful all-mahogany construction and a pair of high-output Gibson humbuckers, making it an ideal choice for rock, hard rock and heavier styles.
The Faded Cherry finish gives the guitar a distinctive, understated vintage character, while the classic white pickguard and chrome hardware provide the unmistakable Flying V aesthetic. The guitar features a mahogany body and mahogany set neck, paired with a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets and Gibson’s comfortable 24.75” scale length.
Tonally, the guitar is equipped with a Gibson 496R neck humbucker and 500T bridge humbucker, providing plenty of output, sustain and aggressive, articulate Gibson character. The 500T in particular is well suited to driven and high-gain tones, while the 496R offers a warmer and more rounded sound in the neck position.
The controls comprise individual volume controls for each pickup, a master tone control and a three-way pickup selector, allowing plenty of tonal flexibility despite the guitar’s straightforward layout.
This example is supplied with a padded Gibson Flying V soft case/gig bag, included in the price.
