The Zoom R20 is a versatile standalone multitrack recorder built for musicians and producers who need professional-grade recording without relying on a computer. Record up to 8 tracks simultaneously onto SDHC or SDXC cards in WAV format at 44.1 kHz, 16/24-bit quality.
The unit features 8 audio inputs: channels 1–2 via XLR/TRS combo jacks (channel 1 with Hi-Z switch for direct guitar/bass), and channels 3–8 via XLR microphone inputs. Channels 5–8 offer switchable +48V phantom power for condenser microphones. A dedicated phones output with independent volume control and master balanced outputs complete the connectivity. When connected via USB Type-C, it operates as an audio interface for Mac, PC, and iOS (8 in / 4 out in multitrack mode).
The integrated 4.3-inch colour touchscreen provides drag-and-drop editing, loop cutting, and pasting capabilities. Every track has access to 3-band EQ, panning, compression, limiter, noise gate, and reverb. The recorder ships with 150 built-in rhythm loops and a synthesizer engine playable via USB MIDI keyboards.
Lightweight at 1.33 kg, the R20 includes an AC adapter (runs on mains power only, no battery option). An optional Zoom BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter enables wireless control via the R20 Control App for iOS.
A workhorse for home studios, live recording, podcast production, and music composition.
