Rich, resonant, and unmistakable. The Tanglewood Blackbird emanates an opulent, dusky warmth, resonating with the allure of an era steeped in musical history. Its all-mahogany construction bestows upon it a tone instantly recognizable and profoundly influential. Mahogany, celebrated for its abundant warmth and resonance, conjures a sound that echoes through the grooves of your cherished vintage records, exuding an air of authentic sophistication.

Crafted entirely from mahogany, the TWBBO exudes a robust, earthy tone imbued with layers of sonic opulence. Renowned worldwide as an iconic tonewood, mahogany has long served as the sonic bedrock for countless legendary artists. Its prowess shines brightly across genres like blues, roots music, and slide, delivering a familiar tone characterized by a commanding mid-range and pronounced bass. At first glance, the Blackbird exudes the timeless elegance of bygone days. Sonically, the Blackbird Folk offers an unforgettable vintage-inspired tone with a contemporary edge. Are you prepared to unleash its potential?

A smooth and responsive playing experience awaits. The Blackbird features an ergonomic orchestra body with graceful curves, compact yet delivering a captivating sonic presence. This mid-sized body offers exceptional projection, volume, and articulation, making it an ideal companion for refining your skills and experimenting with new techniques.

Embracing the classic hourglass silhouette, the Tanglewood TWBBO Blackbird occupies a sweet spot, shallower and narrower than a dreadnought yet more robust than a petite parlour guitar. Its design invites you to hold it close to your body, whether resting on your lap or securely strapped on. The Blackbird strikes a harmonious balance between playability and comfort, a beloved choice of the legendary Eric Clapton himself. It readily accommodates vigorous strumming and alternative techniques, promising a responsive, punchy sonic character adorned with sparkling highs and the renowned Tanglewood feel. Rest assured, you won't be disappointed.

This shop is a musicians dream. The staff are so friendly, helpful and really know their stuff. We first bought a flute and keyboard. These were beautiful instruments. The flute was a purple vivace III with a clear quality sound and was provided with all the cleaning materials. I love playing it and has rekindled our love of music. My husband also made the switch from an acoustic to electric guitar and got his dream of owning his own Gretsch. The prices are excellent for the quality you get and staff really look after you so the upkeep and after care is there for you as well. The best music shop in shop in Hull.

Apparantly in business for 156 years. It`s clear to me that to last that long that the business must be providing a service that not only reaps a good living but at the same time puts a smile on the faces of so many customers. I`m in the process of having a huge clear out and after agreeing the sale of my piano, I pointed out that I had a drumkit that needed putting together and cleaning - left dormant in the garage for a few years- I was just about to put it in a skip I`ve hired but Alan said it may be ideal for a young kid as a starter instrument. What a lovely thought. Getting kids to have an interest in life that may just help them to stay away from video games. Also, the lads that came to take the piano away were very nice and polite. A business that is a credit to Hull

I would highly recommend, I received a friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I was looking to purchase a full size piano keyboard to replace a standing piano and I was shown various options with great information to help me make an informed decision. There was no hard sell and I feel I came away with the exact thing I was looking for. Thank you, 10/10

Purchased a lovely Tanglewood electro acoustic guitar yesterday 25/3/25 from the Hull store, to enable my progression in guitar playing. Shaun who helped me was a lovely guy, informative, funny and knowledgeable, he listened to my requirements and ensured the guitar was suitable and what I required. All in all a great shopping experience, with a Billy Joel song played on the piano at my request (Shaun plays piano). Will definitely return. Thanks Shaun.

Left with a lovely 1/2-size guitar, case and beginner book for our daughter. She even got a blast of Happy Birthday on the piano. This is a lovely shop with amazing staff. Have walked into other music shops and been ignored, but not here. I will be back soon when it's time for me to buy a new electric guitar, even though it's a journey for us.
